10 years, 10 issues and an open invitation
The Irish Journal of Arts Management and Cultural Policy is an open-access source of original research on the arts and cultural sector in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The Journal publishes work on the arts and cultural sector on the island of Ireland across 4 key sections: 1) original research papers; 2) reviews of policy initiatives, reports and conferences and scholarly book reviews; 3) Perspectives on Practice, reflections and interviews from artists, managers and policymakers regarding contemporary policies and practices shaping the cultural sector; 4) New Voices, highlighting emerging research from the wealth of student work at MA level and from other early career researchers on the island.
In 2023, we celebrate the 10th issue and invite contributors from across the island and internationally to submit work to the journal. Submissions can cover all areas of cultural policy; arts and cultural management; cultural tourism and the creative industries; cultural economics; heritage and museum studies; governance; marketing, audience development and participation; philanthropy / fundraising; cultural finance; administration; production / consumption; and arts and education. Scholarship is drawn from a broad range of disciplines and interdisciplinary research.
Initiated at the School of Art History and Cultural Policy, University College Dublin (UCD), IJAMCP has operated since 2013 as an all-island multi-institutional partnership. The editorial board currently has members from Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University, Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork, and University College Dublin.
To coincide with its 10th issue and 10th year, the journal now has a new online home, increasing its discoverability and the impact of its publication. More information on its policies and submission guidelines and all past issues can be found on this website
