24 July 2023 - Call for Papers: Special Issue on Gender, Economics and Society

10-11-2020

The Economic and Social Review is inviting papers for a special issue on “Gender, Economics and Society” edited by Dr. Emma Howard (Technological University Dublin), Dr. Orla Doyle (University College Dublin) and Dr. Oana Peia (University College Dublin). The aim of the Special Issue is to present papers relevant for understanding how gender is related to areas such as: the labour market, inequality, health, firms, finance, the macro-economy, social relations and norms, education, the environment, and behaviours. We would also particularly welcome papers investigating the impact of gender segregated education on student outcomes and degree choices, and the channels through which gender imbalances in the economics discipline are perpetuated.  Academic research is needed in this space to help inform the policy debate and ultimately to improve our understanding of policy options. As a general interest journal, The Economic and Social Review is well positioned to cut across different fields within Economics and Sociology in this space.

We are looking for papers to be submitted by 19th January 2024. The papers will be subject to a normal double blind review process and those that are accepted will be published in Autumn 2024.
